Last year when I started #BLOG365 I was hunkered down in the midst of a hurricane. Blog post here. Almost a year to the day, I am hunkered down for another hurricane. In another state. Hours from the coast. Hurricanes follow me!
I’ve been in a bit of a hurricane the last few months. A new job, a new city, a new state, a new home, a new school year. It’s a bit of a hurricane. Being a Florida girl, I am pretty used to hurricanes, the typical category 2 and 3 type that bring rain and wind.
I am not as used to the hurricanes of life. I like things pretty chill. I like routines. So, establishing new routines and finding my footing in the eye of MY hurricane has been a challenge.
I feel a bit like I have been in a perpetual Duck Tales intro.
My tales of daring aren’t quite as exciting as Duck Tales. But, they are action-packed just the same. And just like Lin Manuel Miranda sings in Hamilton
In the eye of a hurricane
There is quiet
For just a moment
A yellow sky
Hence, no blog posts for me.
A month into my new hurricane-sized adventure and I am finally feeling like things have died to a tropical storm level. I am cooped up for the weekend, expecting some torrential downpours and, even though I have dorm duty, I am excited about the prospect of re calibrating.
I have spun inward and now it’s time to go upward!
